Kite surfing: golf course-ynyslas Wind Direction: E then N/W Wind Stength: 15 to 20 knts ish Surf / Sea State: flat Air Temperature: hot Sea Temperature: brrrrr Weather: sun Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Had to go to aber to collect my daughter from uni so thought despite the
poo forecast i should take some kit..
Good job as i drove down the approach rd to borth i could see a kite up in
the estuaury and it was motoring, turns out it was one of the lisa'a from
dovey out on a 12m catalyst, throwing some nice loops etc.
wind started to die and i had to collect my daughter so we headed to the
sea front and by now the wind had dropped off, but throughout the day it
gradually built so about 1pm i rigged the 14m airush vapour and spent the
next 3/4 hours playing with the wind gradually building, sea was dead flat
and when the small waves did appear made for some nice floaty jumps.
A new toy has arrived at powerkiteshop which is an underground speed board,
129 cm inlenght and half the width of a normal board, but boy does it go, i
was actually out running the kite at times but you have to keep it moving
or you sink.
this board makes you concentrate because a moments laspe when at speed and
it dumps you quicker than katie prices new boyfriend.
All in all a cracking day with hot sun to boot, water was a bit shocking at
first but after a few minutes you got used to it, lots of people on the
beach and just as i left Dandine was setting up to go out.
forecast for the day was 5mph at best, so if your thinking of going to
borth for the easter break and with this weather good chance you'll have
some wind to play with.
